CONCERNED PDP FAITHFULS HAIL NWC FOR HOUSE OF REPS RE-RUN PRIMARY IN UGHELLI NORTH/UGHELLI SOUTH/UDU FEDERAL CONSTITUENCY
Some Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, faithfuls in Ughelli North/Ughelli South/Udu Federal Constituency under the aegis of Concerned Ughelli/Udu Citizens for Justice have hailed the National Working Committee, NWC, of the PDP for organizing a re-run of the House of Representatives primary election in the Constituency a few days ago, following a petition by observers over alleged irregularities in the one earlier conducted.
The petition alleged that the earlier primary was characterized by irregularities which include, among other things, that delegates with physical disabilities who were not supposed to vote during the House of Reps primary, were wrongfully allowed to vote, thereby rendering the outcome of that primary election null and void.
The concerned PDP faithful, however, thanked the delegates for their commitment to the success of the re-run primary election which produced a two-time member of the Green Chamber of the National Assembly, Hon. Solomon Ahwinahwi, as the PDP flagbearer to contest the House of Reps seat in the 2023 general elections.
The group noted that, despite some subjective claims in the media by self-styled and unpatriotic persons in the area who initially attempted to disrupt the process, the outcome of the re-run was indeed an eloquent testimony of Solomon Ahwinahwi's political popularity and public acceptance in the Constituency.
While congratulating Hon. Solomon Ahwinahwi for the well deserved victory at the re-run primary election, the concerned PDP faithfuls commended the National Working Committee of the Party for showcasing internal democracy in the House of Represetatives primary election in Ughelli/North/Ughelli South Udu Federal Constituency.
They, however, urged all aggrieved aspirants and their supporters to accept the results of the primary election and join forces with Solomon Ahwinahwi to work towards giving the PDP a landslide victory in the 2023 general elections.
