Delta2023: Group Urges Delta Central, PDP, Deltans to Give Maximum Support to Mrakpor

By Gabriel Ogheneovo

One of the largest political support group in the 2019 general elections, "Mrakpor's Movement For Okowa 2019", now Mrakpors' Movement 2023 has appealed to Delta Central stakeholders, the People's Democratic Party, PDP, and all Deltans to give maximum support to her principal, Dr Peter Adogbejire Mrakpor, SAN to succeed in his aspiration to take over from Governor Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa in 2023.

The group made this appeal in a statement signed by its Director General, DG, Hon Peter Sane Darah stating that her principal, Dr Peter Adogbejire Mrakpor, SAN, the two time former Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice Of Delta State who hails from the Eastern Urhobo bloc of the Delta Central Senatorial District of the state has all it takes especially in experience to effectively pilot affairs of the state.

Darah added that the state is in need of a capable leader with progressive ideas to succeed Governor Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa and build on the progress recorded by the current administration.

“If our state must be greater, we have the responsibility to choose the leadership that will bring about true transformation across every facet of our state's life. Who is that rallying figure that should lead us in this journey? The answer is deeply connected to our mission and purpose here today,” Darah said.

That person must be a detribalised Deltan and a bridge builder, a Pan Delta, who has been tested and trusted. A thinker who must sustain the legacy our current Governor is leaving behind. That person is our great leader, the Divine light, Dr Peter Adogbejire Mrakpor, SAN.

Darah sued stating that Dr Peter Adogbejire Mrakpor, SAN has demonstrated his readiness as he officially declared his interest to contest for the Delta state governorship seat on Wednesday, 16 February, 2022 to the PDP delegates in Ughelli South Local Government Area. He added that the long awaited declaration has proved his preparation as a salable Aspirant with the success story to take over from Governor Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa in 2023.

“Let us tell the naysayers and those who are still in doubt that we are ready to work for the realisation of this ambition, because Dr Peter Adogbejire Mrakpor, SAN is the number one salable candidate for the Governor. We will preach this gospel with diligence, dedication and high sense of commitment. Mrakpor is an unfolding success story our state deserves at this time.

“We must see ourselves in line with Mrakpor's political ideals. To be open to all, tolerate various interest, protecting and promoting different ethnic diversities which make up the state and ensures all inclusive administration for sustainable peace, unity, and all sided development for all Deltans".

Let us therefore, good people and stakeholders of Delta Central, leadership, delegates, and other members of the People's Democratic Party, and all Deltans to accord solid support to this project to ensure its fruition.
